"Due to the increasing Court backlogs and delays I am committed to the use of
Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques and Collaboration as the first resort, using litigation only when impasse renders settlement impossible.”

Christine L. Crilley

At this time, most of the development in this type of Dispute Resolution (Collaborative Law) is coming from the Family Law area. Only time will tell if other areas of the law adopt this method of resolution the way the Family Law area has done.”

Collaborative Resolution is a contractual process whereby the Parties enter into a written agreement to work as a “unit” or “team” for resolution that is good for the collective/both sides.  In the Collaborative process the attorneys are working for the “best” of the team, although the attorney makes sure their own client’s wishes, desires and needs are part of the collective discussion.
